Limb Lengthening

Short limbs (both upper and lower limbs) can result from variety of conditions including congenital and after fractures. They are a source of anxiety and limp and some can result in arthritis of the adjacent joints. I use different techniques to lengthen legs and arms, including circular frame (Ilizarov and Taylor Spatial Frame) and lengthening nails (ISKD). See some examples below:

A child with bowed and short femur (thigh) - treated with Ilizarov frame - I was able to correct the bow and lengthen his right thigh. Treatment lasted six months.

Lengthening of arm using Orthofix fixator - right arm was 50% that of his normal arm - due to infection at the age of four months.
